Basic material of effective products
In the plant at Lingen, in a manner which is environmentally friendly and which saves natural resources, HACOCELL®-Nitrocellulose is produced from chemical cellulose which is a regrowing raw material. Concerning production remainings HAGEDORN reprocess them to the maximum possible extent. HAGEDORN exclusively supply nitrocellulose with a nitrogen contents not exceeding 12.6 %. Customer requirements for special viscosity adjustments are fulfilled in a flexible manner. Nitrocellulose is available with ethanol, isopropanol, butanol or water damping.

However, it can also be delivered in the form of chips with a variety of plasticizing agents, e.g. ATBC, SAIB, EPO or ODP.
The use of returnable packaging has long been unquestioned for HAGEDORN nitrocellulose. The idea of recycling and of an economical use of resources has always been at the heart of the HAGEDORN production. So, already at an early stage, a nearly complete system of recycling circuits and air and water waste purifying plants has been added to the traditional nitrocellulose production procedure. Additionally there are controlling systems for the monitoring of emissions as well as intelligent waste recycling solutions.

The most superior form of nitrocellulose
Fast drying lacquers and printing inks based on nitrocellulose are unique up to now. Its fast drying property makes it indispensible as binding agent for, among others, air-drying lacquers, leather lacquers, film lacquers and printing inks such as flexo and gravure packaging inks. It provides wood lacquers with an inimitable silk gloss. As component of nail polishes it releases all its brilliance.
At Osnabrück, since 1951 we have manufactured nitrocellulose-based pigment preparations for lacquers and gravure and flexo printing inks of an extraordinary high quality. By means of HAGEDORN's special production procedure we achieve an excellent distribution of pigment and coating of pigment particles with nitrocellulose. Thanks to this procedure HAGEDORN are able to produce the excellent brilliance, high colour intensity and transparancy especially required for packaging inks, even with pigments which are very difficult to disperse.
HACOLOR® pigment preparations are used by the leading manufacturers and customers of printing inks for flexible surfaces such as plastic films or aluminium foils. However, also manufacturers of leather lacquers, furniture coatings and mordants like to use our specialist know-how when difficulties arise. In that regard, especially, as far as the pigment preparations are concerned we follow the primary aim to deliver products to customers' specifications.
Therefore in addition to pigment preparations with nitrocellulose as the binder, HAGEDORN have long offered preparations on the basis of PVC, PVB, CAP, Ethyl Cellulose and acrylics (including water
soluble systems).
