New REACH Regulation has become effective
HAGEDORN Nitrocellulose products are not subject to the REACH Regulation
As from June 1st, 2007 the new European Chemical Regulation REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) has become effective.
The intention of this regulation is, in the future, to inspect and register all materials being produced in or imported into the EU with quantities exceeding one tonne per year regarding their risks for man and environment. During the period from June 1st, 2008 until December 1st, 2008 all materials to be registered have to be pre-registered at a newly established institution in
HAGEDORN Nitrocellulose is classified as a polymeric material and thus is not subject to the substance characterisation according to article 6.3 of the REACH Regulation.
Therefore, presently a registration of our products is not required.
Regarding additives and auxiliary materials, i.e. pigments or damping agents being used in some of our products we have contacted our suppliers in order to clarify whether a registration of these additives is intended or whether certain materials will no longer be available in the future.
For the moment, we assume that all products belonging to our present product range will be available also in the future.
We will keep you informed on this site about new aspects and the next actions concerning the REACH Regulation.
